ABOUT SANNE DUFFT

  • Already as a child, I knew: Illustrating stories was what I would do when I grew up.
Well, I didn’t, at first: I became an art therapist instead, I worked with children, had three wonderful children myself – and  drew and painted for them.
In 2013, I decided to live my chilhood dream and become an illustrator.
I have been working for a children’s magazine here in Germany, and “Der Sandelefant” by Rinna Hermann, the first picture book I illustrated was published by Urachhaus, Germany, in February 2015. In 2016, I illustrated “Nathan de kleine herder” by Ali Hilberts, published by Cristofoor in the Netherlands. And in March 2017, “Magnus under Nachtlöwe” was published – the first book I’d also written.
Being selected one of the runners-up in the 2014 Tomie dePaola Award has made me very proud and happy. Winning the Europolitan Portfolio Contest in 2015 even more so!
